Guardiola insists he has 'one more year' on Man City dealPep Guardiola is aiming to win the FA Cup for the third time
Manager Pep Guardiola insists he has "one more year" remaining on his contract at Manchester City as speculation continues over his future.
The 55-year-old takes City to Wembley Stadium for the 24th time in a domestic cup semi-final or final on Saturday.
Guardiola's side face Chelsea in the FA Cup final (kick-off 15:00 BST) aiming for a double having claimed the Carabao Cup with victory over Arsenal in March.
There continues to be talk that the Spaniard will step down from his position in the summer after a decade at the helm, with BBC Sport hearing similar soundings.
Asked in the pre-match news conference whether Saturday could be his final trip to Wembley, Guardiola said "no way".
He then playfully suggested, while smiling, that he has "one more year [on his] contract" – before making a swift exit from the room. Guardiola was scheduled to leave anyway as it was the last question.
As things stand, there has been no confirmation from Guardiola or the club over his immediate future, but it is understood former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is among the leading candidates to replace him.
City's preference is for Guardiola to stay for as long as possible, but sources have told BBC Sport there is tangible uncertainty over whether he will see out the final year of his contract.
Guardiola, who continues to publicly insist he loves working at the club, has lifted 19 trophies during his time at City, including six Premier League titles, the Champions League and two FA Cups.
His side remain in the hunt for a seventh top-flight title of his spell, but lie two points behind leaders Arsenal with two games remaining.
Asked if his reign is the definition of greatness, Guardiola replied by flexing his bicep and saying: "Yeah, of course, 19 titles in 10 years is not bad.
"They know they don't need to wait until I'm leaving, they know I have been fun. So 19 titles – fight for 20 in 10 years – it's not bad, honestly."
