Speaking to ESPN Argentina, he was asked if he could guarantee staying at Chelsea and said: "I don’t know – there are eight games left and the FA Cup. There’s the World Cup and then we’ll see."
The former Benfica midfielder signed for Chelsea for a then British-record transfer fee of £106.8 million in January 2023, having spent just six months in Portugal.
He's clocked up 161 appearances in all competitions for the Blues since then, emerging as a key player both on and off the pitch.
However, his recent conduct has not gone down well with his teammates. The 25-year-old was also seen berating his own team-mates on the pitch after Chelsea suffered four defeats on the spin.
The Telegraph claims Fernandez has been vocal in the dressing room following the defeats to PSG, Newcastle and Everton.
During the defeat to PSG at the Parc des Princes, he took aim at goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who was at fault for some of the goals during the 5-2 defeat.
Speaking on TNT Sports on commentary duty, Glen Hoddle said: "Fernández is having a right go at him."

Fernandez has worn the captain's armband twice since commenting on his future at Stamford Bridge, with Reece James ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The Argentinian took the armband in the 3-0 defeat to PSG at home, as well as in the 3-0 defeat to Everton in the Premier League.
His comments also haven't gone down well with former Blues' players. Ex-Chelsea midfielder JohnObi Mikel told the Obi One Podcast: "This is Chelsea, not a stepping stone to another team.
"If your heart is already in Madrid, you shouldn’t wear the blue jersey. At Chelsea, we played for the badge, not for a future transfer."
Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior was also asked about Fernandez's comments and said: "I had a great conversation with Enzo at length this morning before training, not just about his comments but how he is feeling, how as a team we can improve.
"He is one of the captains at the club and what I will say is that he made it really clear how happy he is here at this club, how much he wants to win and how passionate he is for us to be successful.

"He also said that in translation and in emotion, things get misconstrued. For me, he is fully committed to this group and to winning here at this football club."
